In Hawaiian, kōkua means to extend help, support, and cooperation selflessly. For us, it is far more than just a business name—it is the core philosophy that guides how we show up every day.

That means everything we do is rooted in mutual support. We believe in genuinely showing up for the Maui community and doing right by the people and the land that sustain us, plain and simple.
How We Extend Kōkua
Historic Canopy Preservation
Providing pro-bono care and restoration work for Maui’s historic public trees and shared community spaces.
Educational Workshops
Sharing practical, honest knowledge on tree care, palm safety, and regenerative land stewardship to empower local property owners and growers.
Non-Profit Service
Serving local organizations—like the Common Ground Collective (CGC), Hawaii Farmers Union Untied (HFUU), and the Maui County Arborist Committee—to support sustainable agricultural initiatives and food security projects.
Spontaneous ʻOhana Care
Providing unexpected, complimentary tree care services for local underserved families on a purely random, unprompted basis. For John, the joy of supporting our neighbors in need brings far more fulfillment than a check.
